January’s not the easiest month to get through, but this year, we were determined to make a difference!
The community organisations in the Triax area came together to design a ‘Commit to be Fit’ programme, where local people and residents took part in a wide range of activities revolving around both mental and physical fitness, including exercise classes, sound baths and meditation, mental health awareness sessions, walking, and more!
Féile was delighted to produce this short video showcasing some of the sessions that took place over the last couple of weeks.
A quick word from Féile’s cameraman and filmmaker Ruairi to thank every one for turning up last night and those who assisted in the making of the film. For anyone who missed the screening of “Ráth Mór Warriors – Release Your Inner Warrior” in the nerve centre yesterday evening, we have good news – the film will be showing online tomorrow evening (Wednesday 24th January) at 7.30pm on our YouTube channel!

On November 27th 2022, Stephen Gargan passed away. A grandfather, father, brother, son, partner, friend and activist, he is missed every day. Born in Dublin, Stephen was involved in community activism in Derry for many years. A founding member and former festival director of Gasyard Wall Féile, he also was a co-founder and director of Gaslight Media Trust. A leading campaigner for the Bloody Sunday families for many years, he co-produced the drama-documentary film ‘SUNDAY’. He also co-developed the ‘Epilogues’ and ‘Just Us’ Education Programme with Jim Keys. Until his untimely passing, he was a key member of the Bloody Sunday March Committee. Féile have co-produced a film celebrating Stephen with his family, friends and comrades.
Féile have announced details of the premiere of their latest film production, ‘Rath Mór Warriors – Release Your Inner Warrior’ which will take place at The Nerve Centre Cinema, Magazine Street on Monday January 22nd at 7.30pm.
The film charts the history of the Creggan based K1/Kickboxing, Boxing, Muay Thai & Fitness Gym and the positive contribution the club and its members make to the Creggan neighbourhood and wider area.
