For eight days in August, Féile 2024 has filled the streets, parks, green spaces, venues, museums and community centres of the Bogside, Brandywell, Creggan, Fountain and Bishop Street neighbourhoods with music, art, sport, magic, discussion, film, comedy and fun!
Anthony “Tony Doc” O’Doherty was born in the Brandywell on the 23rd April 1947. After moving to Creggan as a child, there began a lifelong love between man and estate. To condense his story into a short synopsis would be a criminal act. For those who know the remarkable tales, come along and hear them again because once, twice or thrice just isn’t enough. And for those who don’t know, come along and hear them from the man himself, because you wouldn’t believe it if we told you.

Irish folk and traditional music is going through something of a revival with a new generation producing new and inventive interpretations of the genre.
Féile 2024 brings some of the leading lights of new Irish music together for a one day festival, The Gathering, at Sandinos on Sunday August 11th!
Headliners including John Francis Flynn, Rónán Ó Snodaigh & Myles O’Reilly, Mohammad Syfkhan and Lemoncello who will be joined by some of Derry’s finest talent including Tessio, Teknopeasant and RUÁ.

Féile join forces with Ireland’s longest running electronic music festival, for a summer dance at FIFTY SEVEN Waterloo St. on Friday August 16th with two of the best DJs in the world, Erol Alkan & Ivan Smagghe.

Derry’s biggest community arts festival, Féile 2024, are delights to announce that The Whistlin’ Donkeys will headline a massive concert at The Gasyard Park on Thursday August 15th!
Whether you’re a fan of Irish folk music or Celtic rock, the Whistlin’ Donkeys are a band that you won’t want to miss. The band perform a perfect mix of upbeat songs, catchy melodies,
and thought-provoking lyrics that create an unforgettable experience for all that come to see them!

At the beginning of this year, Féile partnered with St. Cecilia’s College and St. Joseph’s Boys’ School as part of our Communities in Transition project.
Four lower sixth pupils from each school started a 10 week course working towards an OCN Level 3 qualification in Creative Arts and Digital Technologies. Féile is happy and proud to announce that all 8 students have achieved this qualification.
It was a pleasure working with the students and the teachers at both schools!

NEXT UP: Local Filmmakers in Focus
“NEXT UP” is a showcase that aims to provide a new platform for talented filmmakers aged between 16-30 from Derry to screen their work and share their unique perspectives at Féile 2024.
This showcase will highlight the creativity and diversity of the next generation of filmmakers from across the region.
Féile are inviting submissions of short films (fiction/animation/documentary). Films should be be no longer than 20 minutes in length.

Don’t miss a great day out for all the family on Saturday June 22nd when Féile Derry bring Thunder Action Sports to Foyle Valley Railway Museum / Destined, Foyle Road for a jaw-dropping BMX Stunt show. The event will also feature a performance from Sam Madden – Football Freestyle. There will also be a chance to win a top of the range BMX Bike. All welcome!

Volunteers Week: 3th – 9th June 2024
Today marks the beginning of Volunteers Week 2024, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year!
Volunteers Week is a chance to recognise, celebrate and thank the incredible volunteers for all they contribute to our local communities, the voluntary sector, and society as a whole.
All week we be sharing some videos and photographs of the amazing volunteers across Volunteer Investment Project and Gasyard Wall Féile, who give up their time and offer support to so many in the community.
