Féile presents a homecoming celebration of two of Derry’s most distinct musical talents, SOAK and Gemma Doherty, for an intimate performance in the unique venue of Orchard Cinema. The Mercury Prize-nominated artist Bridie Monds-Watson, better known as SOAK, began their musical journey aged 14 when they first wrote breakout track ‘Sea Creatures’, cutting their teeth and cultivating a passionate following from their home of Derry. Signing to Rough Trade, Bridie then released their beautiful debut album, ‘Before We Got How To Dream’, in 2015 to critical acclaim. The album won the prestigious Choice Music Prize for Album of the Year, the Northern Irish Music Prize, saw SOAK shortlisted for a Q Award (‘Best New Act’), as well as taking home the European Border Breaker Award. SOAK has since followed with sophomore album ‘Grim Town’ and confident third offering ‘If I Never Know You Like This Again’, continuing to receive praise for their poetic and memorable songwriting, as well as featuring on ‘just stand there’ with Fred Again.
